Description
RYE5013 - Rye Field Model - 1/35 Egyptian T-34/122 SPG
The Egyptian T-34/122 Self-Propelled Gun was a postwar field conversion developed by Egypt using surplus Soviet T-34 tank chassis fitted with powerful 122mm artillery weapons to create an improvised mobile fire-support vehicle. These conversions reflected the resourceful adaptation of aging WWII-era armored vehicles for continued service in Middle Eastern conflicts during the 1950s and 1960s. Combining the rugged mobility of the T-34 platform with heavy artillery firepower, the T-34/122 became one of the more unusual armored fighting vehicle conversions of the Cold War era. Rye Field Model’s 1/35 scale kit reproduces this distinctive hybrid vehicle with highly detailed exterior features and a complete interior layout for the fighting compartment and hull. Original release from Rye Field Model, kit RM-5013.
