Description
ROD603 - Roden 1/32 Fokker D.VI - WWWEB10102583
Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn
Fokker developed the D.VI for the German Fighter Competition at Adlershof in January 1918. It was derived from the V.13 prototype and powered by a rotary engine at a time when most German fighters used inline engines. The new Fokker D.VII outperformed it, so production stopped at about 60 aircraft. The first production D.VI was accepted on 26 April 1918. Most went to the Kampfeinsitzerstaffeln, the home-defence fighter units that intercepted Allied bombers, and Austria-Hungary bought seven. Roden’s 1/32 kit shows the striking “Fratz” aircraft, with the face painted on its cowling.
- Grey plastic parts on six sprues in the sealed bag
- Clear acetate sheet for the windscreen
- Three decal sheets: two sheets of printed four-colour lozenge camouflage, and one sheet of markings for Fok. D.VI 1689/18 “Fratz,” with Balkenkreuz crosses, the blue fuselage border and the cowling face
- Trilingual Ukrainian, English and German instructions with history and specifications
- Finished model approx. 239 mm wingspan, 181 mm long
