The Supermarine Spitfire was Britain's iconic Battle of Britain fighter, instantly recognizable for its elliptical wing and Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The Mk II followed the Mk I into RAF service in 1940, with a more powerful Merlin XII and Coffman cartridge starter, and it shouldered much of the fighting in the months after the Battle of Britain. The Spitfire went on to serve in every wartime theatre and is among the most celebrated aircraft ever built.

This is the Revell (G.B.) Ltd. boxing of the 1/72 Spitfire Mk II (Made in England by Revell (G.B.) Ltd., Potters Bar), based on Revell's classic "Authentic Kits" tooling, with a frameable box-top illustration by B. Knight. Decals represent an RAF aircraft.
