The Z/28 was Chevrolet's answer to the Trans-Am rulebook, which capped displacement at 305 cubic inches. The solution was a 302 small block built from a 327 block and a 283 crank, rated at a famously understated 290hp, backed by a suspension tuned for road racing rather than stoplight drags. The 1969 body, with its wider stance and creased sheet metal, is the shape most people picture when they hear Camaro, and Monogram's 1/12 kit is one of the largest and best regarded plastic renditions of it.
