RAG8619 - Revell 1/40 The History Makers - Bell X-5 Model Kit - PREOWNED10116612
Preowned, Original seal, Mint
Body copy
The Bell X-5 was the first aircraft able to change the sweep of its wings in flight, adjusting from 20 to 60 degrees while airborne. Its layout drew heavily on the unfinished Messerschmitt P.1101 recovered from Germany in 1945. Two were built, first flying in June 1951, and they were flown by the US Air Force and NACA at Edwards Air Force Base to explore variable geometry before the concept reached operational aircraft. This is Revell's History Makers boxing of tooling first released in 1960.
