RAG8601 - Revell 1/54 German V-2 Missile Model Kit - The History Makers - PREOWNED117647

Preowned, Original seal, Mint

The V-2, properly called the A-4, was developed by Wernher von Braun’s team at Peenemünde and was the world’s first long-range guided ballistic missile. It was powered by an alcohol and liquid oxygen rocket engine, and it flew faster than sound and reached the edge of space. After its first successful test flight in October 1942, it was used against London, Antwerp and other Allied cities from September 1944. Its supersonic speed meant there was no warning and no defence against it. After the war, captured V-2s and many of the engineers who designed them went to the United States and the Soviet Union, where they laid the foundations of both nations’ space programs. This Revell History Makers limited production reissue builds the V-2 in 1/54 scale on its Meillerwagen transporter-erector trailer, together with a launch table.
