Description
RAG07239 - Revell -1/32 Auto Union Type D - WWHP111479
Preowned, Original seal, Mint
The Auto Union Type D was the final evolution of the mid-engined Grand Prix cars developed by Ferdinand Porsche's design for Auto Union, racing in 1938 and 1939 under the revised 3-litre supercharged formula. Where the earlier Types A–C used a supercharged V16, the Type D switched to a supercharged 3.0L V12 producing nearly 550 hp — a formidable and notoriously tail-happy machine that demanded exceptional car control. Tazio Nuvolari, one of the era's greatest drivers, tamed the Type D to memorable victories at the 1938 Italian and British Grands Prix; Hans Stuck was the other primary works driver that season.
