OTA072-29-400 - Otaki 1/48 Grumman Hellcat F6F-3 - Pre-owned 10118122
Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn
The Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat entered US Navy service in 1943 and rapidly became the dominant carrier-based fighter of the Pacific War. Designed specifically as a counter to the Mitsubishi A6M Zero, the Hellcat was faster, better protected, and easier to fly than its predecessor the F4F Wildcat. By the war's end it had accumulated an 11:1 kill ratio against Japanese aircraft, with more than 5,000 enemy aircraft confirmed destroyed. The type also served with the British Fleet Air Arm as the Hellcat Mk.I, seeing action across both the Pacific and Indian Ocean theatres.
