Description
OTAOT2-27-500 - Otaki 1/48 Chance Vought F4U-1A Corsair - WWWEB10107604
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Vought F4U Corsair was the most capable carrier-based fighter of the Pacific War, powered by the Pratt & Whitney R-2800-8 Double Wasp producing 2,000 hp. Initially rejected for carrier operations due to landing visibility issues, it became the backbone of USMC land-based fighter squadrons from 1943 and later served with the Royal New Zealand Air Force and Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm. The F4U-1A introduced a raised pilot's seat and modified canopy to address visibility concerns. Original new tool from Otaki, 1976; OT2-27-500 is the 1980 boxing. Series No. 15.
Note: Manufacturer is Otaki (Japan). 1/48 scale. WWII US/Allied naval fighter — aircraft subject. Out of production vintage kit.
