MPC4206 - MPC 1/72 Westland Sea King - WWHP113838
Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn
Westland built the Sea King under licence from Sikorsky’s SH-3, re-engined with Rolls-Royce Gnome turboshafts and fitted with British anti-submarine equipment. The HAS.1 entered Fleet Air Arm service in 1969 and became the Royal Navy’s main anti-submarine helicopter, with sonar, radar and homing torpedoes for hunting submarines far out from the fleet. In the 1982 Falklands War, Sea Kings flew from HMS Hermes and HMS Invincible. They kept up round-the-clock anti-submarine patrols, moved troops and supplies ashore, and carried out search and rescue throughout the campaign. This vintage MPC kit builds a Royal Navy Sea King, XV644, “582”, from RNAS Culdrose, in the dark blue scheme shown on the box art.
- Dark blue injection-moulded plastic parts in the sealed bag
- Clear window parts
- Torpedoes, as shown on the box art
- Decals for Royal Navy Sea King XV644, “582” / “82”, “CU” Culdrose codes, with roundels, “ROYAL NAVY” titles and danger and jet intake markings
- Illustrated instructions
