Description
MPC1-4311 - MPC 1/72 Lockheed U-2 - WWWEB10103131
Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn
The Lockheed U-2 "Dragon Lady" was an American single-engine, high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft developed by Lockheed's Skunk Works, first flown in 1955 and operating above 70,000 feet to conduct strategic overflights for the USAF and CIA throughout the Cold War. It became world-famous in 1960 when Francis Gary Powers' U-2 was shot down over the Soviet Union. This is MPC's 1984 boxing of the Airfix tooling, with additional parts (enlarged intakes and a revised spine) that allow the early U-2A/C variants to be built.
Box contents:
- Injection-moulded plastic sprues in 1/72 scale
- Waterslide decal sheet with two marking options (including Gary Powers' aircraft and a 6512th Test Group machine)
- Assembly instructions with painting reference
