The Northrop F-5E Tiger II was an upgraded development of the F-5A Freedom Fighter, introduced in 1972 as a more capable export fighter combining low operating costs with competitive performance. It was adopted by over 30 nations and served as the primary adversary aircraft for U.S. Navy and Air Force aggressor training programmes. The Royal Saudi Air Force was among its major operators, acquiring a substantial fleet in the 1970s.

Released in 1983 by MPC (a division of Fundimensions), this kit is based on the Airfix F-5E tooling.
