The Junkers Ju 87 Stuka was the Luftwaffe's primary dive bomber throughout the early war years, serving in the Blitzkrieg campaigns across Europe and later in North Africa and on the Eastern Front. The R-2 was a long-range variant fitted with underwing drop tanks, extending operational range for over-water and desert missions. Stukas operating in the Mediterranean and North African theatres carried the distinctive tropical (Trop) equipment reflected in the markings options included in this kit.
