The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was one of the heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War, and the early "Razorback" versions with their high rear spine and framed canopy flew as escort and ground-attack fighters with the Eighth Air Force. The Dornier Do 335 Pfeil ("Arrow") took an unusual push-pull layout with one engine in the nose and one in the tail, making it one of the fastest piston-engined fighters of the war, though it arrived too late to see meaningful service. Monogram paired its two 1/48 kits in 1987 as Set No. 1 of the Air Combat Series, and this is the bilingual Canadian issue.
