The B-29 was the USAAF's premier strategic heavy bomber of WWII, notable for its pressurized cabin, remote-controlled gun turrets, and tricycle landing gear — innovations that made it the most advanced production aircraft of its era. It is best known as the aircraft that delivered the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945.
