The North American B-25J Mitchell was the most-produced variant of the Mitchell series, with over 4,300 delivered. It retained the glazed nose of the B-25C/D while incorporating the repositioned dorsal turret and tail gun position introduced on the B-25H. In practice, many B-25Js in the Pacific had their nose glazing replaced with solid gun packs for low-level strafing — the configuration this kit represents. Monogram first tooled the B-25 in 1/48 in 1977; kit 5507 is a 1991 rebox of that tooling in the glass-nose strafer configuration.
