Description
MON2941 - Monogram 1/24 #10 Purolator Lumina - WWHP111522
Preowned, Original seal, Mint
On the final lap of the 1990 Daytona 500, Dale Earnhardt — who had led 155 of 200 laps — cut a tire in Turn 3 on a piece of debris, handing the lead and the win to Derrike Cope in the #10 Purolator Chevrolet Lumina. Cope's victory for owner Bob Whitcomb was one of the biggest upsets in Daytona 500 history: a single-car, modestly funded team beating the field at NASCAR's showcase event. Cope went on to win again that season at Dover, but the 1990 Daytona win remains his signature result.
This is Monogram's 1991 rebox of the 1/24 Chevrolet Lumina tooling, issued with Purolator #10 decals commemorating Cope's 1990 Daytona 500 win. The tooling originated with Monogram's 1990 Days of Thunder licensing kits.
