Dale Earnhardt drove the black #3 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing from 1988 through the end of his career, and the Lumina body style became one of the most recognisable machines in NASCAR history. Earnhardt won the 1990 and 1991 Winston Cup championships in this car, cementing his reputation as "The Intimidator" and making the black #3 an enduring symbol of the sport's golden era. The Lumina platform was Chevrolet's factory NASCAR entry through the early 1990s and produced some of Earnhardt's most dominant seasons.
