Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Handley Page Halifax was one of Bomber Command’s great four-engined heavy bombers. More than 6,000 were built, and they flew over 75,000 sorties between 1941 and 1945. Canada had a big stake in the type: the RCAF’s No. 6 Group flew Halifaxes in large numbers from bases in Yorkshire. The B.Mk.V Series 1A on the box top belonged to 431 “Iroquois” Squadron RCAF, which flew from Tholthorpe in 1943. Beyond bombing, the Halifax towed gliders, dropped paratroops, supplied resistance movements and hunted U-boats with Coastal Command. Modelcraft of Vancouver, BC distributed this kit in 2004. It can be built as any of three variants.
