Description
MIN14530 - Minicraft 1/144 American Airlines DC-4 - WWHP113804
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
In 1939, American, Eastern, Pan American and United airlines backed Douglas to build a larger four-engined airliner to follow the DC-3. Douglas produced the DC-4, but the Second World War broke out just as production began. Every aircraft was requisitioned for the US military as the C-54 Skymaster, and more than 1,000 were built during the war. Afterwards, surplus C-54s were converted for airline use. American Airlines acquired 52 of them and flew them alongside its ageing DC-3 fleet. This Minicraft kit shows Flagship Monterrey, NC90417, in American’s polished natural metal livery with the orange cheatline and eagle logo.
- White plastic parts in the sealed bag

- Scale-Master decal sheet printed by Cartograf, with “American Airlines” titles, “Flagship Monterrey” nose script, NC90417 registrations, eagle logos, orange cheatlines and engine cowl trim, “AA” wing titles, window and door markings, and de-icing boot details
