The Lockheed Super Constellation was the stretched, more powerful development of the graceful triple tailed Connie, and the military R7V-1 and C-121 versions served the US Navy and Air Force well into the jet age. The Blue Angels operated a C-121J as their support aircraft, hauling ground crew, spares and gear between show sites in full team blue and yellow with the Blue Angels script on the nose. It carried the team until the early 1970s, when it was replaced by the C-130 Hercules that became known as Fat Albert.
