Description
TS-031 - Meng - 1/35 King Tiger - Henschel Turret
The Tiger II was the heaviest tank fielded in numbers during the Second World War, and the Henschel turret is the one most people picture, its sloped face replacing the rounded early production turret with the shot trap under the mantlet. Meng's 2017 tooling is still the benchmark in 1/35, and the assembly jigs for the engine grilles are the kind of thoughtful engineering that separates a good kit from a frustrating one.
- Length 290mm, width 108mm assembled
- Link and length tracks that go together quickly and cleanly
- Photo-etch parts with assembly jigs for the engine deck grilles
- Alternative rear exhaust pipe covers for different production periods
- Commander and loader figures included
- Four marking options: s.Pz.Abt. 503 (Kurt Knispel's 334, Hungary, October 1944), s.Pz.Abt. 505 (124, September 1944), s.SS-Pz.Abt. 501 (223, Ardennes, December 1944) and s.Pz.Abt. 509 (324, Hungary, March 1945)
- No interior detail in this boxing
- Paint and cement required, sold separately
All four schemes are three-tone Dark Yellow, Olive Green and Red Brown over RAL 7028, so a set of the standard German armour colours covers every option in the box.
