The Voodoo grew out of a long range escort fighter for SAC bombers, but found its real career as an interceptor. The RCAF took 56 as the CF-101B in 1961 and flew them on NORAD alert for two decades, making it one of the most familiar Cold War jets in Canadian skies.

This is Matchbox kit PK-411 in 1/72, moulded in the brand's usual three colours of plastic. It builds the two seat F-101F, the RF-101B reconnaissance conversion, or the Canadian CF-101B. Decals cover a "Happy Hooligans" F-101F of the 178th FIS, North Dakota ANG in 1973, an RF-101B of the 192nd TRS, Nevada ANG at Reno in 1972, and a CF-101B of No. 409 "Nighthawk" Squadron at CFB Comox in 1970. Finished model is 30cm long.
