The Blackburn Buccaneer was Britain's definitive low-level strike aircraft, designed for high-speed attack below radar coverage and famously rock-steady at 100 feet. Originally a Royal Navy carrier aircraft, the S.2B was the RAF version, serving with the Germany-based squadrons of 2 ATAF before going to war over Iraq in 1991 as a laser designator - retiring in 1994 after a 30-year career.
