The Mitsubishi MU-2 was a Japanese high-wing twin-turboprop, first flown in 1963 and one of postwar Japan's most successful aircraft exports. The MU-2J was a long-fuselage variant powered by Garrett TPE331 turboprops; designed in Japan, US-market aircraft were completed at Mitsubishi's facility in San Angelo, Texas for business and charter operators. The type was known for its high cruising speed alongside demanding handling, owing to its spoiler-based roll control in place of conventional ailerons.

This is the Minicraft Models (Torrance, CA) US-market reboxing of Hasegawa's 1/72 MU-2J, derived from Hasegawa's early-1970s MU-2 tooling. Decals cover two civil Japanese registrations, including a Yamaha corporate scheme.
