The Aichi D3A, known to the Allies as Val, was the Imperial Japanese Navy's standard carrier dive bomber at the start of the Pacific War, recognisable by its fixed spatted undercarriage and elliptical wing. The Aichi B7A2 Ryusei Kai, or Grace, was the intended late war replacement for both the dive bomber and torpedo bomber roles, with an inverted gull wing and an internal weapons bay, but the carriers it was designed to operate from had been lost before it reached service in numbers. This LS set from 1976 pairs both Aichi types in 1/144.
