Ford built the Cougar II in 1963 as a show car for the auto show circuit. It was a sleek two-seat GT with a fibreglass body on a Cobra-based chassis, powered by Ford’s 289 V8. With its long bonnet, short tail and Corvette Sting Ray-rivalling lines, it showed how Ford’s designers imagined a sports car for the 1960s. It never went into production, but it remains one of the best-loved Ford concepts of the era. This 1996 Lindberg kit lets you build the original concept, with additional performance engine parts.
