LIN70561 - Lindberg 1/32 Gee-Bee Air Racer - WWWEB10108948
Preowned, Original seal, Mint
The Granville Brothers Model R-1 was barely more than a Pratt & Whitney Wasp with a tail bolted on, which was exactly the point. Jimmy Doolittle flew NR2100, race number 11, to a world landplane speed record of 296 mph and won the 1932 Thompson Trophy with it at Cleveland. It was also famously unforgiving, with almost no forward visibility and a habit of biting anyone who got slow. The dice on the fuselage were Doolittle's own touch.
Skill level 2, ages 10 and up. Made in the USA.
