Shelby built the 427 Cobra to compete in the 1965 GT class, but it fell short of the 100 cars needed for FIA homologation. That left a batch of unsold competition cars, which Shelby fitted with windscreens and road equipment and sold as the 427 S/C (Semi-Competition). With a 7.0 litre Ford V8 making around 485 hp, plus side exhausts, roll bar and flared wheel arches, only about 30 were built, and they’re among the most valuable Cobras today.
