Description
ITA1350 - Italeri 1/72 Stirling Mk.IV Glider Tug - Paratroops Transport - WWWEB10114935
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Stirling was the RAF's first four-engined heavy bomber, and once Lancasters and Halifaxes took over the bombing role it found a second career with 38 Group. The Mk. IV deleted the nose and dorsal turrets and added a paratroop exit and glider towing gear, and on the night of 5 June 1944 Stirlings dropped pathfinders into Normandy and towed Horsa gliders across the Channel. They went on to serve at Arnhem and in the Rhine crossing. All-new Italeri tooling released for the seventieth anniversary of D-Day.
