The Airspeed AS.51 Horsa was Britain's primary troop-carrying assault glider of the Second World War, capable of transporting 25 fully equipped troops or heavy equipment. The Horsa saw its most famous service at Pegasus Bridge on the night of 5/6 June 1944 and at Arnhem during Operation Market Garden. The Mk.I featured a side loading door; the Mk.II had a detachable tail section for vehicle unloading. Both RAF and USAAF operated the Horsa. Italeri new tool, 2010.
