The Vought F4U Corsair was a US carrier-based fighter best known for its inverted gull wing and its combat record against Japanese forces in the Pacific. The F4U-4 was a more powerful late-war development, and the F4U-4B subvariant swapped the usual machine guns for four 20mm cannon. Many Corsairs were recalled to action during the Korean War, where their robustness made them effective ground-attack aircraft. This Italeri tooling represents the -4B in US Navy and Marine Corps Korean War markings.
