The Messerschmitt Bf 110 G-4 was the definitive night fighter version of the type, powered by DB 605 engines and fitted with the FuG 220 Lichtenstein SN-2 radar and its distinctive nose aerial array. It carried a crew of three and served as the mainstay of the Luftwaffe night fighter force against RAF Bomber Command. The R3 field conversion set replaced the nose machine guns with two 30mm MK 108 cannon.
