Description
IFLARDBA24 - InFlight200 1/200 BEA - British European AIrways De Havilland DH-121 Trident 1C
The Hawker Siddeley (de Havilland) DH.121 Trident was Britain’s first three-engined jetliner, designed to meet British European Airways’ needs on short and medium-haul European routes. Its three rear-mounted Rolls-Royce Spey engines and T-tail came before the similar Boeing 727. The Trident entered service with BEA in 1964, and a Trident made the world’s first fully automatic landing in passenger service in 1965. G-ARPB was one of the earliest Trident 1Cs and wore BEA’s classic “red square” livery.
