Britain took nearly 2,000 Corsairs under Lend-Lease, and Fleet Air Arm machines had eight inches clipped from each wingtip so they would fit below the lower hangar decks of Royal Navy carriers. British pilots also worked out the curving carrier approach that let them see past the long nose, a technique the Americans later adopted.

This is Hobbycraft kit HC1528 in 1/48, from the Canadian firm's mid 1990s Corsair range, with the clipped wingtips specific to Commonwealth aircraft. Decals cover JT634 of No. 1834 NAS aboard HMS Victorious in 1944 and KD244 of No. 1841 NAS aboard HMS Formidable in 1945.
