HELL395 - Heller 1/72 Potez 540 - WWWEB10108046
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Potez 540 typified the angular French "multiplace de combat" school of the mid-1930s: a high-wing, strut-braced bomber-reconnaissance type with semi-retractable gear and glazed nose and dorsal turrets. Obsolete by 1939, it is best remembered for service with the Republican air arm in the Spanish Civil War, including André Malraux's volunteer Escadrille España, before finishing its career on transport and colonial duties.
This is the original 1967 Heller tooling in the first-issue yellow-logo wraparound box with Paul Lengellé artwork, made in France. The mold proved remarkably long-lived, later appearing under Smer, Hasegawa, and AZ Model labels, but this is the original French boxing.
Box contents:
- Parts molded in plastic with extensive clear glazing for nose, cockpit, and turrets
- Waterslide decals for Armée de l'Air markings
- Assembly instructions
