The McLaren MP4/2 is one of the most dominant F1 cars ever built. Designed by John Barnard and powered by a TAG-Porsche turbocharged V6, it won 12 of 16 races in 1984 — with Lauda and Prost finishing 1-2 in the championship by the narrowest margin in F1 history, half a point. Prost took the title the following year in the MP4/2B. Back-to-back constructors' championships and a landmark in F1 engineering.

Heller's 1/43 kit from 1988 captures the car at an unusual scale — smaller than the typical 1/20 or 1/24 F1 kit but larger than diecast, giving a compact finished model. Decals and instructions included.
