The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was one of the most important heavy bombers of the Second World War and remains the most-produced American military aircraft in history, with more than 18,000 built. Designed by Consolidated Aircraft, the B-24 combined long range, high speed, and a substantial bomb load thanks to its distinctive high-aspect-ratio Davis wing. The B-24J variant became the definitive late-war production model, incorporating improved defensive armament, upgraded nose and tail turrets, and refinements developed from combat experience in Europe and the Pacific.
