HBB80149 - Hobbyboss - 1/35 Leichter Panzerspahwagen 2cm Mid

The Sd.Kfz. 222 Leichter Panzerspähwagen was one of Germany’s most recognizable light armored reconnaissance vehicles of the Second World War. Developed from the earlier Sd.Kfz. 221 series, the 222 mounted a 2 cm KwK 30 autocannon and coaxial MG34 machine gun in an open-topped hexagonal turret protected by distinctive anti-grenade mesh screens. Fast, agile, and well-suited for scouting duties, the vehicle served extensively with German reconnaissance units from the early Blitzkrieg campaigns in Poland and France through the North African desert and the Eastern Front. Mid-production vehicles introduced detail refinements and equipment updates as combat experience exposed shortcomings in earlier variants. Nearly 1,000 examples were produced between 1937 and 1943 before the type was gradually replaced by half-track reconnaissance vehicles such as the Sd.Kfz. 250/9.
