The Lockheed S-3A Viking was the US Navy's carrier-based anti-submarine warfare aircraft, entering fleet service in 1974 to hunt the increasingly capable Soviet submarine force. Its high-mounted wing, twin turbofans, and bulged "hoover" fuselage packed an extensive sensor and weapons suite into a carrier-compatible airframe; later S-3B and ES-3A variants extended the type's career into the 2000s in surface-strike, tanking, and electronic-reconnaissance roles. This is Hasegawa's original 1978 tooling from its "King Size" series.
