Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Nakajima Ki-49 Donryu ("Storm Dragon"), codenamed "Helen" by the Allies, was developed to replace the Ki-21 as Japan's primary Army heavy bomber, with the specific goal of operating without fighter escort. Entering service in 1941, the Ki-49-I was powered by two Nakajima Ha-5 Kai radial engines and carried a defensive armament of five machine guns and a 20mm cannon. Though it saw action across China, New Guinea, and the Dutch East Indies, the type never fully met its design ambitions and was gradually relegated to transport and special attack roles as Allied air power increased.
