The Nakajima E8N1 Type 95 was the Imperial Japanese Navy's standard shipborne reconnaissance floatplane from its formal adoption in September 1935 through the early Pacific War, launched by catapult from cruisers and battleships on fleet scouting duties. A biplane of conventional construction, the E8N1 served in large numbers during the China Incident and was still in front-line use at the time of Pearl Harbor, with 755 Model 1 and Model 2 aircraft produced in total. Hasegawa's 2015 1/48 kit covers the Model 1 variant with three IJN marking options.
