Description
HAS09051 - Hasegawa 1/48 Hurricane Mk.IIC - WWHP119720
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Mk.IIC was the definitive cannon-armed Hurricane, trading the eight rifle-calibre machine guns of the earlier marks for four 20 mm Hispano cannon and a Merlin XX. Rather than fade away once the Spitfire took over daylight fighter duties, it became the most heavily produced Hurricane variant at 4,711 airframes, flying night fighter, intruder and ground attack sorties from Britain to North Africa and the Far East. This is Hasegawa's 1997 tooling in its first release, with markings for No. 3 Squadron machines and for PZ865, the last Hurricane ever built and still flying today with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
- 1/48 scale injection moulded plastic kit, 88 parts
- Grey styrene frames plus a clear frame for the canopy, windscreen and wingtip lights
- Fine recessed panel line detail, with the Hurricane's fabric-covered rear fuselage represented
- Detailed cockpit tub with seat, control column and instrument panel, plus separate cannon barrels and a choice of open or closed canopy
- Vinyl poly cap for the propeller
- Waterslide decal sheet with markings for three Royal Air Force aircraft: PZ865 "The Last of the Many", BD962 / QO-Q of No. 3 Squadron, and Z3894 / QO-R of No. 3 Squadron
- Decals include A and B type roundels, fin flashes, serials, code letters, instrument panel and airframe stencilling
- Illustrated instruction sheet with English and Japanese text, plus a painting and marking guide
- Finished model measures 254 mm span and 203 mm length
