The F-16D Brakeet (Hebrew: "Lightning") is the Israeli Air Force designation for the two-seat F-16D Block 40, modified with an enlarged spine housing the Rafael Elbit Systems avionics suite and additional fuel capacity. Israel was the launch customer for this configuration, which gave the IAF a capable two-seat strike aircraft with performance closely matching the single-seat F-16C. The Brakeet served with multiple IAF squadrons and saw operational use over Lebanon and in long-range strike missions throughout its service life.Z
