Description
FUJ7A-A4 - Fujimi 1/72 British Aerospace Hawk Finnish Air Force - WWHP113843
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The British Aerospace Hawk was designed as the RAF’s next-generation jet trainer. It first flew in 1974 and entered service in 1976, and in 1980 it took over from the Gnat as the aircraft of the Red Arrows. It’s powered by a single Rolls-Royce/Turbomeca Adour turbofan and can approach Mach 1 in a dive. A 30 mm Aden cannon pod and underwing pylons give it light attack capability as well. The Hawk became a major export success. Finland ordered 50 Hawk Mk.51s, the first arriving in the early 1980s, and Valmet assembled most of them in Finland. Indonesia also bought Hawks as the Mk.53. This vintage Fujimi kit builds the Hawk in the green and grey camouflage of the Finnish Air Force, with markings for an Indonesian aircraft too.
