The Grumman A-6 Intruder was the US Navy's principal all-weather, day/night carrier-based attack aircraft from its introduction in 1963 through the end of the Cold War. The A-6A, the baseline production variant, saw extensive combat over Vietnam flying from carriers in the Gulf of Tonkin, with its sophisticated DIANE navigation and attack system allowing it to deliver ordnance in conditions that grounded other aircraft. It served with both the Navy and Marine Corps for nearly three decades before retirement in 1997.

A vintage Fujimi kit from the Famous Fighter Series, distributed in Canada by Borgfeldt Toys, Scarborough, Ontario. Box is open; contents appear complete based on inspection.
