FPJ104 - Farpro Japan 1/72 Kawanishi E15K1 Shiun (Norm) - WWHP111715
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Kawanishi E15K Shiun ("violet cloud") was a high-speed reconnaissance floatplane designed to operate where Japan no longer held air superiority, scouting for the cruiser Oyodo's planned submarine flotilla operations. It pioneered a jettisonable main float and was the first Japanese production aircraft fitted with contra-rotating propellers, but only 15 were built and the small detachment sent to Palau in 1944 was quickly lost. One of the most obscure and technically interesting IJN floatplanes, rarely kitted in any era.
This is the vintage Farpro Japan export boxing in the distinctive line-art green box, companion to the Saiun (No.103) in the same Japanese Navy series.
Box contents:
- Parts molded in plastic with clear canopy
- Central float and wingtip stabilizing floats
- Waterslide decals for IJN markings
- Assembly instructions
