The MiG-21 was Mikoyan-Gurevich's first-generation delta-wing supersonic fighter, with the PF variant entering production in the early 1960s as an all-weather interceptor featuring a redesigned nose intake and RP-21 radar. It became one of the most widely produced jet fighters in history, serving with the Soviet Union, Warsaw Pact, and dozens of allied air forces through the Cold War. Known to NATO as the "Fishbed," it saw extensive combat over Vietnam and the Middle East.
