Description
EDU8083 - Eduard 1/48 Lysander Mk.III - WWHP111881
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Westland Lysander was designed as an army cooperation aircraft, but became best known in a very different role -- as the clandestine Special Duties transport used by No. 161 Squadron RAF to insert and extract SOE agents into occupied France under cover of darkness. Its short take-off and landing capabilities made it uniquely suited to operating from improvised fields at night. The Lysander also served with Polish squadrons in RAF service and in standard army cooperation and communications roles throughout the war.
Eduard's ProfiPACK edition is based on the original Gavia tooling (2001) with additional Eduard-produced detail parts added for this 2003 release.
