The Hawker Tempest Mk V was Hawker's powerful Napier Sabre-engined fighter, entering RAF service in 1944. This early-version boxing represents the Series 1 aircraft, identifiable by the long-barrel Hispano Mk II cannons that projected well ahead of the wing leading edge. Fast at low level, the early Tempests were prominent in the campaign against V-1 flying bombs over southern England and in fighter sweeps over Europe. This is Eduard's ProfiPack edition, a multimedia kit with resin and photo-etched detail and markings for three aircraft. This is the original 1998 ProfiPack boxing of the early-version Tempest Mk.V, predating Eduard's 2018 new-tool kits, and includes Eduard's resin and photo-etch detail over the earlier short-run plastic.
